// FARM:shop...

I stumbled upon this curious little cafe on Dalston Lane whilst popping to the paint shop earlier today. Having wandered past it a few times before, I had often wondered what happened inside with its fish tanks, living plant walls and cafe seating. It's not your usual lunchtime haunt, but with a sign outside claiming to have 'the best B.L.T in London', I found myself compelled to go in and give it a go.

What I now know is that FARM is in fact as stated by them 'the world's first urban farming hub - a workspace, cafe and events venue packed to the rafters with living and breathing food - literally a farm in a shop'. It was set up by Something & Son in March 2011 with the intention to bring farming into the city and inspire us city folk to grow and harvest our own food.

If you are ever in the area, I'd recommend popping in and having a look. It's a cute little cafe with a great ethos, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.  Like me you may just find yourself mesmerised by the high tech indoor allotment and big orange fish swimming around you.

The FARM:shop is open every Monday to Saturday from 11am-5pm.
